Two arrested after discovery of suspected drugs and firearms in east Belfast

The 43-year-old man and 38-year-old man have been released on bail

Police appealed for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or other camera footage from the scene to come forward

Two people have been arrested following the discovery of a quantity of suspected drugs and firearms in east Belfast.

It comes as the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch searched a property in the Dunraven Avenue area yesterday.

Several items were seized, including a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs, drug related paraphernalia and suspected firearms.

A 43-year-old man and 38-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of Class A and possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.

Both men have since been released on bail.
