Two arrested after man stabbed during alleged burglary in Co Down

Two people have been arrested following a stabbing incident in Co Down on Monday night which police believe occurred during an attempted burglary.

It was reported a man and woman had entered a property in Killyleagh at around 11.30pm, with an altercation occurring inside.

A man was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his leg following the incident, which happened in the Sloane Crescent area.

A woman aged 38 was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Both suspects remain in police custody on Tuesday afternoon.
