Teenager punched in the face in attack outside Belfast City Hall

Police said the victim suffered a fractured jaw

An 18-year-old man has been punched in the face as he stood at the front of Belfast City Hall, police have said.

The teenager was attacked in the Donegall Square North area in the early hours of Thursday.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Shortly before 3:30am, it was reported that an 18 year old man was punched in the face by an unknown male as he was standing at the front of City Hall.

“The man was taken to hospital with a fractured jaw following the incident.

“The male is described as being 6″1 in height, wearing a black coloured top, cream coloured trousers, white trainers and a beige coloured baseball cap.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would like to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage taken at the time of the incident, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 737 04/07/24.”
