Residents escape injury in Belfast arson attack

Police said liquid was poured over a door and set alight

A number of people have escaped injury after liquid was poured over the door of a flat in north Belfast and set alight.

Police said they are treating the incident in the Skegoneill Avenue area on Thursday as arson.

Detectives are appealing for information following an arson attack at a property in north Belfast on Thursday evening,liquid had been poured over a door at a flat in the Skegoneill Avenue area and set alight.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “It was reported at around 8.45pm that a liquid had been poured over a door at a flat in the Skegoneill Avenue area and set alight.



“Our colleagues from the NIFRS attended and extinguished the fire.

“There were several people in the property at the time of the incident, thankfully none of them were injured.”
