The sister of east Belfast murder victim Rachel Simpson has paid tribute to her “beautiful kind hearted” sibling as details of a service of love and remembering were confirmed.
The 43-year-old’s body was discovered in a garage beside her home on the Castlereagh Road on Friday September 13 following a call to police.
In a tribute online her sister Cher said: “We mourn a daughter, a sister and a cherished mother of three children. Loved by every one who knew her.
“Heartache is not a feeling I have known until now.”
A service of love and remembering for Rachel Simpson will be held on Wednesday 25 September at 3pm in Orangefield Presbyterian Church. Castlereagh Road.
It will be followed by a short service at Roselawn and then refreshments at La Mon Country House.
Cher said: “We welcome all of those people who loved Rachel and the entire Simpson family to attend.
“In true Rach style we ask you all to wear some leopard print.
“We welcome all of those people who loved Rachel and the entire Simpson family to attend.
We welcome all of your prayers at this time.”
Rachel’s son, 21-year-old son Nathan Simpson, has been charged with her murder.
He appeared in court on Monday having only been released from prison one week earlier.
The defendant, whose address was given as Castlereagh Road in the city, entered the dock in handcuffs and wearing a grey custody tracksuit.
When asked if he understood the allegations against him, Simpson replied: “Yes, your honour.”
No further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing were disclosed during the brief hearing.
The accused was remanded in custody to appear again via videolink on October 14
