Two men arrested after police seized around £75,000 upon stopping a vehicle in Newry have been released pending further enquiries.
The men, aged 49 and 42, were detained after a vehicle was stopped by organised crime detectives and roads policing officers in the Belfast Road area on Monday.
The stop was part of a proactive policing operation, and the cash, which was in Euros, was seized following a search of the vehicle and taken for further forensic examination.
The two men were detained on suspicion of possessing criminal property.
On Tuesday, a PSNI spokesperson said the pair “have both been released on police bail pending further enquiries”.
