Man charged with attempted murder in connection with Ballygowan shotgun attack

A 44-year-old man is due to appear in court on Tuesday

Police investigating a shotgun attack in Co Down in which a woman was injured have charged a 44-year-old man with attempted murder.

The man was arrested and later charged in connection with the incident at Brae Grove in Ballygowan on Saturday night in which shotgun pellets were fired through the window of a house, striking a woman in the head and back.



The man has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage.

He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
