Every now and then a bottle of wine arrives on my desk that’s actually liquid gold. This is one of them... This French sample from the Languedoc-Roussillon region is a blend of Semilion, Chardonnay, Vermentino, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc and has a beautiful bright hue with golden highlights. On the nose it has toasty aromas and notes of exotic fruits. Perfect to pair with fish and an ideal for summer.

This is another great example of the French wine. Vinified by Royale in the Languedoc vineyard on the Mediterranean coast, this Cabernet Sauvignon (probably the most the most famous red wine grape on Earth) expresses all the typical qualities of the grape variety’s herb notes, with aromas of blackcurrant and red fruits – it’s full-bodied yet delicate, with soft berry flavours and a long lingering finish. Enjoy with a juicy steak or Sunday roast.

The limestone-rich soils of northern Burgundy give a distinctive mineral character to this classic Chablis which is produced from 100 per cent Chardonnay grapes. Served lightly chilled, the steely dry and lively fruit flavours are delicious with meaty white fish or goats’ cheese
