Madness have been announced as the latest act to perform at this summer’s Belsonic festival in Belfast.

The chart-topping band are set to play their greatest hits from a four-decade long career at Ormeau Park on Thursday, June 19.

Known for their ska-infused pop tracks, Madness first emerged in the late 1970s before becoming a chart mainstay in the early and mid 1980s.

Their 15 top ten hits include the number-one single ‘House of Fun’, released in 1982.

Hailing from Camden Town, they have gone on to become of the most successful bands in the UK, with 10 top ten albums and awards such as the prestigious Ivor Novello for their ‘outstanding song collection’.

Their most recent album, ‘Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie’, became their first studio album to top the UK album chart in 2023 – more than 40 years into their career.

Madness are the latest act to be announced for the annual Belsonic festival, joining a lineup of other artists including Justin Timberlake and Alanis Morissette.

Madness will be joined by special guests Ocean Colour Scene.
