LEADING motor vehicle retailer, the Agnew Group has opened a new £2.25 million state-of-the-art Volkswagen Hub in Mallusk.

The hub, which incorporates a 8,000 sq ft Volkswagen van centre and separate passenger car showroom is a significant investment for the group and included the refurbishment of the former car showroom at the Mallusk Road, Newtownabbey. The new facility also features the latest technology, with customers now able to search for stock or view technology videos on a large screen.

Franchise director, Brian Robinson said the latest investment will enhance the group's offering and meet demand, especially within the growing commercial vehicle market.

"The refurbishment has created a spacious Volkswagen car showroom that displays ten current models comfortably on the inside, with an additional twelve displayed on the extended area at the front," he said.

"This new facility will strengthen our presence to meet the 20 per cent growth that has been experienced in the Northern Ireland commercial vehicles market over the past two years. The Volkswagen van centre is a natural progression for us, as we develop our business to continue to meet the changing needs of the customer," Mr Robinson added.

The Agnew Group is one of the north’s leading motor vehicle retailer groups and is also counted as one of the UK’s top 25 franchised dealers.

The business operates 15 dealerships in Belfast, Newtownabbey and Portadown areas, representing nine manufacturer brands. It also operates Agnew AutoStore in Portadown, Agnew Corporate, TPS, Agnew Repair Centre and Agnew Trade Centre.

The group, which employs over 1,000 staff, recorded an annual turnover of £450m last year and sells over 20,000 new and used vehicles annually.
